Image Compressor

Cut image file size with a quality slider and optional resize — perfect for faster websites and email. Runs in your browser.

Compress images for the web

Large images are the number-one cause of slow-loading pages and bounced emails. Compressing them keeps them looking good while dramatically cutting the file size. This compressor re-encodes on your device, so nothing is uploaded and you keep full control over quality.

How to use it

  1. Drop in a JPG, PNG or WebP.
  2. Set the quality, output format and (optionally) a max width.
  3. Click Compress & Download and check the size saved.

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will my image get? It depends on the image and quality you choose, but photos often shrink by 60–90%. Lower quality and a smaller max width save more.

Is the compression lossy? Yes — JPG and WebP are lossy formats. At 70–80% quality the difference is usually invisible while the file is far smaller.

Should I use JPG or WebP? WebP generally gives a smaller file at the same quality and is supported everywhere modern. Choose JPG only if you need maximum compatibility.

Are my images uploaded? No. Compression runs entirely in your browser.
