How to use it
- Pick a start date and an end date (in any order).
- See the total days, weeks and months, plus the exact breakdown.
What you can work out
The date difference calculator tells you exactly how much time separates two dates — as a total number of days, in weeks and days, in months, and as a full years-months-days breakdown. It’s useful for counting down to an event, working out how long ago something happened, tracking a notice period or deadline, or calculating the length of a stay, project or subscription.
Days until, or days since
Set today as the start and a future date as the end to get a “days until” countdown — handy for exams, weddings, trips or product launches. Flip it around, with a past date as the start, to see “days since” an anniversary or milestone. Because the tool orders the dates for you, it doesn’t matter which one you enter first.
Frequently asked questions
Does it include both the start and end day? It counts the number of days between the two dates (end minus start).
Does it handle leap years? Yes — the day count is exact and accounts for leap years.
Can I enter the dates in any order? Yes — the tool automatically uses the earlier date as the start.
Is my data stored? No — the calculation runs entirely in your browser.
