When to convert a PDF to Word
PDFs are great for sharing, but hard to edit. When you need to reuse the wording of a document — updating an old contract, quoting a report, or reworking content that only exists as a PDF — converting it to an editable Word file saves you retyping everything. This tool pulls the text straight out of the PDF and packs it into a .docx you can open in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice.

This tool converts the text of a PDF. Complex layouts, columns, tables and images aren’t reproduced — it gives you clean, editable text to work from. Scanned (image-only) PDFs have no text to extract.

Does it keep the exact layout? No — it recovers the text so you can edit it, not the original formatting, columns or images.
Why is my scanned PDF empty? Scanned pages are images, so there’s no selectable text. That needs OCR, which we don’t run yet.
Do I need Microsoft Word? No — the .docx opens in Google Docs and LibreOffice too, both free.
